These patties are simple to make and are great for lunch, dinner, or even as an appetizer.

Ingredients
For the Salmon Patties:
2 cans (14.75 oz each) salmon, drained and bones removed (or use fresh cooked salmon)
1/4 cup breadcrumbs (use gluten-free breadcrumbs for a low-carb option)
1/4 cup yellow onion, finely chopped
2 large eggs
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
Salt and pepper, to taste
2-3 tablespoons oil (for frying, canola, vegetable, or olive oil)
Optional Tartar Sauce (for dipping):
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
1 tablespoon sweet relish
1 tablespoon lemon juice
Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Salmon Patties
In a large mixing bowl, flake the canned salmon with a fork until it’s broken into small pieces.
Add the chopped onion, breadcrumbs, eggs, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, fresh parsley, and salt and pepper.
Mix everything together until well combined. The mixture should hold together when you form it into patties. If it’s too loose, add more breadcrumbs until it reaches a consistency that can be molded into patties.
Step 2: Form and Fry the Patties
Shape the mixture into 4-6 patties, depending on your preferred size.
Heat 2-3 tablespoons of oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
Once the oil is hot, carefully add the salmon patties to the skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crispy.
Flip the patties gently to avoid them breaking apart. Once both sides are browned and the patties are cooked through, transfer them to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
Step 3: Optional Tartar Sauce
While the patties are cooking, prepare the tartar sauce by mixing together the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, sweet relish, lemon juice, and a pinch of salt and pepper in a small bowl.
Adjust the seasoning to taste.
Step 4: Serve & Enjoy
Serve the Southern Fried Salmon Patties hot with the tartar sauce on the side.
These patties pair perfectly with coleslaw, roasted vegetables, or a simple green salad for a complete meal. They also go great with fried okra or cornbread for a true Southern-style feast.
